San Antonio's hotel industry, shaken by the pandemic, has experienced a strong recovery, but the Alamo City lagged every major Texas metro in a couple of especially key metrics in 2022 — room nights sold and revenue. It may take a stronger recovery in convention and group business to help close the gap. Metro San Antonio hotels sold just under 12.5 million room nights last year, or 7.9% more than in 2021, according to new data obtained from Source Strategies Inc. Up Interstate 35, Austin market hotels sold nearly 13.
