The Cancer Research and Prevention Institute of Texas awarded more than $90 million in grant funding to organizations across the state, and San Antonio's share in that latest round is nearly $5 million. The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio will get the bulk of that Alamo City funding — nearly $4 million. It includes a $2 million CPRIT recruitment award that will allow UT Health San Antonio to bring Lu Wang from the University of Pennsylvania to its Department of Biochemistry and Structural Biology where she will serve as an assistant professor and investigator in the Sam and Ann Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies.
